Employee Spotlight - Jasmine Huang

Jasmine Huang
Jasmine Huang

Congratulations to our newest winner of the Staff Recognition Award - Jasmine Huang!

The award winner is an employee everybody knows who is not afraid to step up for the most tedious work. Jasmine is organized, attends to all details, from the insignificantly small to critically important, and goes above and beyond her normal duties to make sure things are done in the right way. She sets a good example of keeping communication in a "close loop" with clear instructions for the team.

Jasmine is a team member in the Hematology Division at the Department of Pathology & Laboratory Medicine. In addition to her daily hematology bench assignment, she has taken it upon herself to resolve and email Hematology Bone Marrow Pathology and send-out reports to treating oncology physicians, pathologists, and billers. This task requires her to contact UCLA, University of Washington, Neogenomics, MAYO, and other reference labs for bone marrow cytogenetics, molecular, FISH, and other tests not performed in-house. Jasmine found a way to simplify the process by creating folders for each patient and uploading all test reports and transmittals to the Pathology Sharepoint. She consistently and diligently monitors patient logs to ensure the information is up-to-date.

To get to know Jasmine, we asked her a few questions.
