Outreach Program
UC Irvine Pathology Services (UCIPS) was established in 1979 in conjunction with UC Irvine Medical Center and the School of Medicine.
It was designed as an outreach program, providing full clinical and anatomic pathology services to the surrounding community with an emphasis on specialized testing and diagnostic procedures. Since then, UCIPS has provided services to a wide array of clientele, including hospital laboratories, state and county clinics, healthcare agencies, commercial and research laboratories and private industry.
UC Irvine Laboratory maintains a stringent internal and external quality assurance program. The laboratory currently subscribes to more than 40 proficiency surveys and College of American Pathologists.
UCIPS provides a wide array of anatomic and clinical pathology services to our regional clients. Our growing test menu, our rapid turnaround times and commitment to customer satisfaction have all contributed to marked growth in referral volume over the past decade.
