Employee Spotlight - Thuy Vu
Congratulations to our newest winner of the Staff Recognition Award - Thuy Vu!
The award winner is an employee who goes above and beyond in displaying exceptional customer service, team work, performance and innovation.
Thuy is a team member in the Hematology Division at the Department of Pathology & Laboratory Medicine. She is known as a hard working employee who is very polite and helps other staff with processing specimens, calling floors for problem samples and critical values. She is also great under pressure and does not get flustered when she is multitasking. Thuy works on Saturdays so that the division does not have problems with bone assistance.
To get to know Thuy, we asked her a few questions.
Q. What is your job title and how long have you worked here at the Department of Pathology?
I was hired in October, 2001. I've worked for almost 17 years at the UCI Medical Center. I started working at Anatomic Pathology as a lab assistant for about 7 years and now am working in Hematology as a Lab Technician.
Q. What is a trait/skill/talent that you like most about yourself?
I enjoy cooking.

Q. What do you enjoy doing most when you have free time?
Hobbies: hiking, cooking, fishing, shopping and snowboarding.
Q. What is on your bucket list?
I want to travel all over the world before I get old.
Q. What is your perfect meal?
Breakfast

Who can NOMINATE?
Any staff member can self-nominate and/or nominate another employee by filling out the form.
How will the employee be RECOGNIZED?
A $75 gift card to the successful nominee and a feature in the Employee Spotlight on the Dept. of Pathology website.
Who will make the DECISION?
A committee team of employees (Staff Ambassadors) and Carol Eade-Viele will select the best examples of our values, put the names into a lottery, and one name will be picked randomly.
